Cool climate
Cool climate vineyards are located in areas where the climate is cooler either because the wine estate is further from the equator, or at higher altitudes, or cooled by oceanic cold currents. Cool nights are characteristic of cool climate wines, and essential for their flavor because the grapevine temporarily halts its sugar production at lower temperatures, allowing the grape aromas to express themselves more fully.
Combined with craftsmanship, wines originating from cool regions often produce very unique flavors that you won't find elsewhere. Nowhere else do craftsmanship and talent emerge so clearly.
