Fire, smoke, and three Japanese yakitori chefs take over Wijndomein Valke Vleug on Saturday, August 22 and Sunday, August 23. A unique open-grill experience where you will discover the estate while tasting a variety of preparations along the way.
For this special edition, chefs Karin Yakumaru, Kim Seungwhan, and Takada Masaki travel exclusively from their restaurants ZEN & Torisho Sai in Osaka and Kyoto to Belgium. For just two days, they bring their craftsmanship, techniques, and traditions to Wijndomein Valke Vleug.
Each of them belongs to the top tier of their profession and brings years of experience within Japan’s yakitori culture. Together, they create a series of dishes rooted in simplicity, precision, and the perfect moment when fire and ingredient meet.
Open-Fire Discovery

Not a traditional seated dinner, but a culinary journey across multiple open grills spread throughout the estate. You will enjoy 7 yakitori skewers and 3 small bites, each prepared by one of the chefs and served where the fire is burning. Every dish is accompanied by carefully selected sakes and wines from Wijndomein Valke Vleug and Vinetiq, chosen to complement the different preparations and flavours.
A rare opportunity to watch three Japanese yakitori masters at work up close and experience their craft as it is enjoyed in Japan.
The experience is complemented by a live koto performance by Aki Sato, internationally acclaimed for her contribution to promoting Japanese musical culture in Europe. With more than twenty years of international performances and an award from the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, she adds a subtle musical dimension that enriches and deepens the evening.
