We’re closing our festive summer with Harfest, our annual harvest celebration. After a summer filled with high-end culinary experiences, we’re wrapping up the season with a unique event where you can help with the harvest and enjoy a star-quality lunch on the estate.
For this edition, the two icons of our Summer of Culinary Icons are joining forces: the living legend Roger Souvereyns** and chef Luigi from Materia, the Antwerp-based restaurant ranked no. 37 on the list of The 50 Best Italian Restaurants in the World.
Programme
• 10am – 12pm: optional grape picking
Experience the harvest up close. We’ll take you into the vineyard in small groups and show you how to get started. With a bucket full of grapes, you’ll head to the winery, where winemaker Pieter will guide you through the next steps of the process. If you'd like to participate in the harvest, please tick the box when making your reservation.
• 12pm: culinary lunch by Roger Souvereyns** and Materia
After picking, we gather at long tables overlooking the vines. Enjoy a gastronomic lunch created by Roger Souvereyns** and Materia, paired with wines from our Valke Vleug and Vinetiq cool climate collections. A flavourful tribute to the harvest and the end of an exceptional summer.

About Roger Souvereyns**
Roger Souvereyns** is a living legend in Belgian gastronomy. Born in Hasselt and raised in a modest family, he discovered his passion for cooking early on. At a young age, he started working in hospitality, learning the trade in prestigious kitchens like Maison Troisgros and Frédy Girardet. In Belgium, he worked at Villa Lorraine and Hostellerie Saint-Roch, among others. What has always defined Roger is his uncompromising commitment to quality, craftsmanship, and authenticity.
In 1983, he opened the iconic Scholteshof, a benchmark in Belgian haute cuisine that quickly gained international acclaim. Under his leadership, it became a culinary temple, awarded two Michelin stars and frequented by gourmets, royals, and fellow chefs. Roger was not only a pioneer on the plate, but also a mentor and coach to countless young chefs who later became renowned names themselves. His style was direct, demanding, and always to the point, yet he gave his protégés the space to find and grow into their own voice.
Even today, at the age of 86, he remains a source of inspiration. Not by looking back, but by continuing to share his unwavering love for the craft with a new generation.

Born from the shared passion of a young couple, lovers of refined dishes and fine wines, Restaurant Materia is located in the heart of Zurenborg, Antwerp.
A complete culinary experience, driven by passion and the pursuit of perfection reflected in every dish, and accessible to all enthusiasts of fine, refined cuisine. The name ‘Materia’ reflects their philosophy: working with raw ingredients, carefully selected and processed through various techniques to bring out their full potential. Materia received a 14/20 rating from Gault&Millau and ranks no. 37 on the prestigious The 50 Best Italian Restaurants in the World list.
About Ambrosia
Chef Kurt Van Den Broeck worked for 2.5 years as sous-chef at Souvereyns’ Scholteshof. For our 5 Years Valke Vleug event, chef Kurt is co-creating the menu of Roger Souvereyns together with chef Luigi from Materia.
With his Ambrosia Fijnkeuken catering, Kurt has been creating refined and flavourful dishes for over 30 years. It’s all about taste, presentation, and service. He also applies Roger’s sacred principles: staff are multi-skilled, great attention is paid to homemade consommés and stocks, and inventory is strictly monitored, along with the kitchen garden.
